Safety at Sea is not a slogan at 7SHORT1LONG®. It is what you carry on every watch, every drill, every crossing.
We built this collection for the seafarers who know the muster station by heart. Who have stood in a full immersion suit at 03:00 in North Atlantic weather. Who have run man overboard drills until the procedure is muscle memory. Who have checked the EPIRB battery dates and signed off the fire station checklist, not because the SMS required it, but because they know what is at stake when the alarm goes off for real.
Fire drill hoodies. Man overboard T-shirts. Lifeboat crew tees. Free fall rescue boat apparel. SOLAS worn as crew identity, not as decoration for people who have never left the dock.
We are former seafarers. We know what Safety of Life at Sea actually means. Not the certificate on the wall. The emergency muster at 02:00.
Every design here belongs to the crew who lived it.
OEKO-TEX certified materials.
YES, WE ARE CREW.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does 7 short blasts and 1 long blast mean?
Seven short blasts followed by one long blast on the ship's whistle and general alarm bells is the General Emergency Alarm under SOLAS. It does not mean abandon ship. It means: stop, go to your muster station, wait for orders. Abandon ship is a separate order, given by the master.
What is SOLAS and why is it important?
SOLAS stands for Safety of Life at Sea, the international convention setting minimum safety standards for commercial vessels worldwide. For every seafarer on a SOLAS ship, safety is not optional. It is the framework your entire working life is built around.
What does EPIRB stand for?
Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon. The distress device that transmits a vessel's position automatically in an emergency. If you have registered one, tested one, or been trained to activate one, this collection was made for you.
What is a fire drill at sea?
A mandatory SOLAS exercise where the crew musters at designated fire stations and practices emergency response. Every crew member has an assigned role: fire squad, emergency team, medical team, bridge team. If you have stood at your fire station at 07:00 on a Sunday in port, you earned the hoodie.
What is a man overboard drill?
A drill where the crew practices response to a person falling into the sea. Immediate helm action, fast rescue boat launch, coordinated recovery. Crew run this regularly. The muscle memory stays long after the contract ends.
Is Safety at Sea apparel suitable as a gift for seafarers?
Yes. Every design references something anyone who has served at sea recognizes immediately. Muster stations, EPIRB, lifeboat procedures, fire drill protocol. Built for crew. Not for tourists who like anchors.
